The First Six Weeks

A six-week postpartum check-in plan for new parents and partners handling nighttime care. BodyBuddy asks one daily question about basic needs, without tracking weight, calories, or steps. Five-minute walks begin only after clinician clearance and only on days the client says are possible.

or get coached through it

For six weeks, BodyBuddy will gently check on basic needs while you and your partner care for your new baby.

Six Week Rhythm

Choose your check-in hour on day one, then follow the same simple rhythm through week six.

How It Works

This is a basic-needs check-in, not a workout or diet plan.

One Daily Question

BodyBuddy asks once at the hour you choose and keeps your answers for a useful picture at the six-week visit.

Basic Needs Only

Questions cover whether you ate, had help to shower, or got any sleep, even in broken stretches.

Nothing Measured

This plan does not track weight, calories, or steps.

Parents And Partners

The plan supports new parents and partners handling nighttime care during the first six weeks.

Gentle Follow-up

If answers feel dark for several days in a row, BodyBuddy will name the pattern gently and ask who is around.

Walking Rules

Walking begins only when both clearance and capacity are in place.

Wait For Clearance

Do not begin the five-minute walks before your clinician clears them.

Name Possible Days

After clearance, tell BodyBuddy which days feel possible and walk only on those days.

Tell BodyBuddy

Let BodyBuddy know when clearance is given so walking check-ins can begin.

Plan Practices

These are the concrete practices that make up the six weeks.

How BodyBuddy works

  1. 1Start the plan.
  2. 2BodyBuddy texts you every day to keep you on track.
  3. 3Actually finish what you started.

What the texts feel like

Day 1 · getting started

Week 3 · the slip

week 3. yesterday got missed, so did you eat before 2 today?
i felt completely swallowed by the day, but yes eventually.
i'm glad you ate. tomorrow i'll check on sleep
Later
how did the rest of today actually go?

Week 6 · the finish

week 6 already. could someone hold the baby while you showered today?
weirdly emotional, but yes, and I finally felt human.
good. tomorrow we close out the six-week picture
Later
did that little bit of space stay with you?
